Idea & Information

The bi-annual (Web)fontday is the one-day conference for designers of digital media as well as front-end and mobile developers passionate about type and typography. International experts and emerging talents are meeting with attendees on a level playing field. Lively exchange and discussions are encouraged, both on and around the stage.

The long-awaited introduction of webfonts in 2010 has opened up new possibilities for digital typography and reading on screen. And this is not limited to the web. New fonts for apps and other media as well as new tools aid the daily practice of designers, but also add complexity. The (Web)fontday 2014 wants to encourage and inspire to explore new, exceptional solutions with innovative tools and technologies, and aims to provide practical tips for the everyday work as a designer.

The (Web)fontday is curated and moderated by Tim Ahrens, Boris Kochan, Indra Kupferschmid und Oliver Linke.

Speakers are Thierry Baccino, Stephen Coles, Marko Dugonjic, Oliver Linke, Helmut Ness, Andrea Nienhaus, Denis Pelli, Frank Rausch, Oliver Reichenstein, Ralf Richtsteiger, Bram Stein, Michael Schmidt, Allen Tan, Erik van Blokland and others.
